7.1 Proposed Zoning By-law Amendment
 
The proposed Zoning By-law Amendment pertains to residential lands throughout the Town of Collingwood.
 
THE PURPOSE of the proposed Zoning By-law Amendment is to modify and add provisions to the Town’s Zoning By-law, as amended, to implement secondary suite policies in accordance with the Town’s Official Plan, the Simcoe County Official Plan and various Provincial Planning Policy documents.
 
THE EFFECT of the proposed Zoning By-law Amendment is to permit secondary suites (accessory apartments), within semi-detached and townhouse dwelling units and to allow secondary suites in detached accessory buildings in association with single detached dwelling units where appropriate.

STAFF REPORTS
CAO2017-03   Broadband Assessment Report – Final
 
THAT Council declare Broadband an essential utility for economic growth;
 
AND THAT Council authorize Staff to investigate options for promoting the Town’s Broadband connectivity and refer any associated costs to the 2018 budget as an unmet need.
 
C2017-06        Unopened portion of Peel Street
 
THAT Council herein determine the unopened portion of Peel Street, as described herein, as surplus to the needs of the municipality, and further direct staff to initiate the appropriate process to officially stop up and close the road allowance and dispose of the subject lands in consolidation with 70 Huron Street, subject to the necessary notice and by-law being approved.

THAT Council receive Corporate and Community Services Standing Committee Report CORP-COMM2017-05 from its meeting held May 1, 2017, as presented.

THAT Council authorize the Royal Canadian Air Force flyby to take place as low as 500 feet over the Town of Collingwood on July 15th, 2017 in support of the Wasaga Beach Rally Veterans Ride.

  • Motion deferred at the Council Meeting of March 27, 2017 re: Hospital Redevelopment – has been withdrawn by Councillor Lloyd. Therefore by-law 2017-027 is also withdrawn.
