Community Annoucements
National Volunteer Week - Mayor Cooper recognized the Town’s Committee and Board members prior to Council during Volunteer Appreciation Week and thanked them for their dedication, expertise and service to our community. The Town has approximately 60 Committee and Board members that sit on our 9 Committees and Boards.
 
Deputations
  • Presentation on Downtown Graffiti and Upcoming Workshop, P. Skelton, Chair, Collingwood Downtown BIA Board of Management
Ms. Skelton presented some images of recent graffiti and vandalism that has occurred within Downtown Collingwood. It is an expensive problem which falls on the property / business owner. Graffiti requires significant resources to remove and must be reported to the police. Ms. Skelton invited Council and anyone who would like to come to a workshop happening Wednesday, April 26th at 5:30 p.m. at the Collingwood Public Library.

A.5 Great Lakes & St. Lawrence Cities Initiative re: Request for Resolution on Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Federal Restoration Funding
Council passed a resolution petitioning the Federal and Provincial Government as well as the United States Congress to appropriate the needed funding for the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative in the 2017-2018 budget (full motion will be available in the minutes of this meeting).
 
A.1 Hospital4Collingwood re: Hospital Redevelopment
Council passed a resolution to re-issue a letter to the Hospital Board inviting them to have a joint meeting with Council.

Motions
A motion was passed endorsing Councillor Jeffery as Council representative on the Federation of Canadian Municipalities.
 
Rise and Report from In-camera
Council passed a resolution to advertise for two positions on the Collus PowerStream Board.
Council confirmed that they will not be considering water and/or wastewater with respect to their negotiations with EPCOR for the hydro share sale.
