Media Release: Help keep Collingwood clean and green!

Collingwood, ON [5 April 2017] – Get involved and help keep Collingwood clean by taking part in the fourth annual Collingwood Community Clean-up Day. Also join us for a seed planting workshop hosted by Health Kids Community Challenge.

Gather your friends, family, neighbours, teams, or schoolmates this April 22nd for a community-wide cleaning of Collingwood’s neighbourhood parks, trails, roads, schools, and public spaces. Assemble a clean-up crew, identify an area that needs a quick tidy and register your site with the Town to receive supplies and garbage removal support.

If you don’t have a site in mind for your group, you can join members of Council and Town staff at Harbourview Park (behind McDonald’s) at 1:00 p.m. on Earth Day, April 22nd, to help clean up the park.

Earlier in the day, kids are invited to a free seed planting workshop at 10:00 a.m. at the Collingwood Public Library, presented by the Healthy Kids Community Challenge. Register for the workshop by emailing healthykids@collingwood.ca.

If you can’t make it out on April 22nd, clean-up initiatives are encouraged throughout Earth Week and municipal staff will provide garbage removal services for all registered clean-ups.
